For those who have not heard or read about the US Nationals 2009 yet, here’s a press release from YoyoFactory which might interest some of you:

The 2009 USA National Yo-Yo Contest was a showcase for YoYoFactory products and the skills of the elite YoYoFactory Contest Team. The crowd in Chico California were on hand to witness a display of domination with Yuuki Spencer of Richardson Texas capturing the coveted 1A title, Patrick Mitchell of Gilbert, Arizona the 2A title and Miguel Correa of Garland Texas the hotly contested 5a title.

While Spencer and Correa have previously won the contest (twice each) 23 year old Mitchell was celebrating his inaugural victory. “… Winning a national title is something I have dreamed of achieving since I first started yo-yoing 10 years ago. Having actually done it, well, its a pretty amazing feeling. This just goes to show you that with enough dedication and enough work, anything is possible. One quick thanks to team yoyofactory for all of the support and all of the help in 2009. Here’s to 2010 and doing it all over again!”

More than just winning YoYoFactory sponsored players took 7 of the top 9 places in the 1a division in a performance that again highlights YoYoFactory’s position as the worlds premier yoyo manufacturer.

Very seldom do we see the words “High Performance Metals” and “Duncan” come together in the same sentence. Normally when one thinks of the brand, we’d conjure thoughts of its huge heritage, the era of the Freehand 1, as well as it’s range of decent plastic yo-yos these days that cater to both beginners and professionals alike.

However, with the release of the Screaming Eagle brand, Duncan aims to bring to the table its own mix of high-performance metals (there you go! All that in one sentence!) in order to step up its game in the metal yo-yo circle.
