It applies to ALL qualifying freestyles, and all 1min freestyles. there's just not enough time in 1min to have performance scores.

Aww, no points for performence in 1min FS huh.....
I'm much more of a performence person then someone that cares about the actual points systerm since most of the time my goal on stage is just to entertain.

Sadly the 3min FS only applies to the pro div in other events like WCC or EST.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but does this "no points for performance in 1minFS" only apply to AP or does it apply to all the other events as well??

Hi Syazwan,

The Mongu Hoodies are custom made, hence the pricing. These are super limited and if Save Deth decides not to do them again, they'll be SUPER RARE! =)

Forgot to add one thing, because there's a big crowd, if a trick/combo/variation etc makes the crowd go crazy, that WILL influence the judges as well for bonus points. f it wows the crowd it will wow the judges :)

Ok, as a judge, here are some of my inputs..it is not the same for every judge but the basis of judging are similar.

1) Using same music isn't an issue, it doesn't make it it easier or harder to judge. Most times, we only pay attention tot he beat of the music and the choreography of the tricks to the music, we usually won't even remember the song at the end.

2) 1min FS is vastly different from 3min FS. In 1 min, there is NO performance score and the time starts the moment the music start, NOT when you first throw the yoyo. So don't wast time on long intros..just start the moment the music starts.
Avoid doing tricks that take up time, instead play fast and do lots of string lands and don't do too much repetition tricks, lie multiple braintwisters, those don't earn much points. Try not to catch the yoyo too much, regenerate if you must, a regeneration is a point for the first time, a catch or bind etc is no points.it's only 1 min, catch no more than once so you don't waste time.

3) 3min freestyle is all about "performance", Performance scores are 30% and that is ALOT of points to lose out on. Just look at the Japanese, how they have the "flair" on stage which gains them alot of points. Crowd interaction is important as well.

4) 3min freestyle is where you can do lots of combos and difficult tricks with style. Bonus points are given for level of difficulty. Of course, if you miss, you get deducts, if you hit, you get bonus so it's a risk. Because 3min is a long time, you can afford to take risks and if you miss, try to to repeat and try again, it only make its more obvious you're trying again and most of the time, you will miss the 2nd time around.
Taking risk for 1min FS isn't recommended because 1min is not enough time to recover from any mistakes. HOWEVER, if you're super confident then by all means go all out and be fast, technical and difficult for 1min as well...but you will HAVE to hit it spot on with little or no mistakes.

5) Lastly, always do tricks you're comfortable with that you can hit all the time. Try not to do stuff you just learnt. Just ask all the pros from all over the world, when they're off stage the can show you all sorts of WOW stuff that you will never see them do on stage, simply because they're too risky or they're not 100% at them yet...but the next year, you will see those tricks on stage...it takes ALOT of pratice but with hard work, maybe not this year but the next you will succeed...just ask any of our local guys like Aik Hwee or Darrell or Sean or Junjie or anyone...we've all seen the start out beginners at the furst SYYC or AP and look where they are at now :)

Wow! Are those earphones Westone?? Neat! i would love a pair...opps off topic, not back to topic.

It seems like from my experience with EST, a few songs seems to pop out very oftern. If buy any chance it happends, does this mean it would be easier for the judge to compair you with that other guy that used the same song??
